Hi Thomas, Everyone,

I have contacted Dr Peredur Williams who is a UK astronomer (based at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh, just 150km from my home) He is involved in the WR140 periastron campaign. He has an interesting website on the subject here.

Here is his reply to my e-mail

Dear Robin

I've updated my WR140 pages to include the phenomena around
periastron and suggestions for observing. Your comments would
be welcome. (er, you are welcome to link to this page!)

http://www.roe.ac.uk/~pmw/Wr140phen.htm

I'd like to send this to Thomas Eversberg but don't know his
e-mail address - could you please forward this message to him
or let me know his address. Does he run the WR140 project
group website you mentioned in your email - you didn't give
the link.

All the best
Peredur

I was also able to take a spectrum this morning (2hrs exposure) so I could get two spectra per day around periastron depending on the weather.

Best Wishes
Robin

Here it is, normalised to continuum and compared with previous results

Hi Robin, I just sent a message to Peredur and as cc to our whole campaign gang. His WR 140 web site can be found as a link on our campaign page. Tony now works on the proposal fine tuning and I am in permanent contact to the technician on Tenerife. It seems that the telescope can reach the extreme positions of WR 140. In addition Thierry Morel from Liège is working on the proposal text for the two B supergiants.

So, we are on our way and we can hope to get more interested observers for Tenerife. I asked Josè Ribeiro to place the announcement into the french spectro-I list. Maybe that some french friends would like to go with us... And even Tony thinks about sending a student.

Cherio, Thomas

Anyway, your results are phantastic. Right during the most challanging time in January!!! I am very impressed!
