I have compared the mean of my results for the C III line Dec 07- May 08 with the published mean in the Marchenko paper (fig 5)

My results are similar but 1-2% higher (The S/N of my mean is about 350)

Best Regards
Robin

Hi Robin! Quit an achievement! Good work! My first guess is that your rectification function within the line fells a bit off compared to Sergey. If you are interested to discuss it it more detail I strongly encourage to send these data to him (sergey.marchenko@wku.edu). He will appreciate it... and say hello from me. Recently he asked Tony Moffat about additional data and it is best to get in touch.

Cheers, Thomas

Thanks Thomas,

I am beginning to believe this project is possible

Yes my line is a bit high at the 5535 point. (It is no surprise that it is different really as my continuum is just a linear extrapolation from the 5755 continuum point)

I will contact Sergey Marchenko as you suggest. Perhaps he can let us have the original data to compare.

Cheers
Robin

Aha... that may well be the reason and it will be interesting to know what Sergey did.

Well, he already knows our data base and I would be very surprised if he wouldn't be interested.

Cheers
