E. Schwab, Egelsbach, Germany, reports his recovery of this comet (cf.
IAUC 7998) on CCD images that he obtained remotely on two nights with the
0.8-m f/3 Schmidt reflector at Calar Alto, Spain, as well as on CCD images
taken at Schwab's request by E. Kuusela with the 1.0-m f/4.4 reflector at the
European Space Agency's Optical Ground Station, Tenerife. Twelve 60-s
exposures taken on Aug. 18.1 and 19.1 UT with the Schmidt telescope show a
tail about 5" long in p.a. about 250 degrees. Schwab's measurements of the
ten stacked 60-s 1.0-m reflector images taken on Aug. 19.2 show a tail about
8" long in p.a. 250 degrees.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Erwin!
