Has anyone got a copy of a Ritter spectrum of telluric reference star Zeta
Aquila converted to be readable in ISIS or Visual Spec?

Thanks
Robin

Anyone? Also the RV standard bet Aqr. (The Ritter spectra are in IRAF multispec format and I dont have anything which can read this)

Thanks
Robin

I can convert multispec files to 1D-fits files, if you send them to me.

Best regards,
Otmar

Thank you very much Otmar,

Noel, you mentioned using Ritter reference spectra for the Telluric and RV standards. Do you know yet exactly which ones you plan to use? Then Otmar can convert them to 1D linearly binned spectra so I can run my own data dreduction in parallel to compare with your results.

Cheers
Robin

Here's a link to the publically available data from Ritter, including zeta Aql.

http://astro1.panet.utoledo.edu/~wwritt ... chive.html

I don't have a high-resolution spectrum of beta Aqr available right now. That will be mostly used at the end of the run to check wavelength solutions for the different spectrographs. So, the zeta Aql is more important for determining the telluric contaminations in the spectra.

Cheers,

Noel

Hi Noel,

I was just checking if you have a preference among the various Zet Aql spectra that are there. They still have the telluric lines in them. Is the telluric template there OK for removing them?

I see there are some spectra of Bet Aqr in the ELODIE archive which could potentially be used.
http://atlas.obs-hp.fr/elodie/

Another question - You do not mention how the spectra will be normalised. Are you for example planning to use fixed points in the pseudo continuum which can be used to normalise the spectra for comparsion between observers? (The choice of points could be critical for LHIRES users for example where the wavelength coverage is limited and can restrict the pseudo continuum available. This was an issue for me in the WR140 campaign, though I do have a larger CCD now)

Thanks
Robin

If anyone is interested I now have several merged linear high resolution spectra of Zet Aql (Thanks Otmar!) Note though that the wavelength coverage is not continuous in these Ritter spectra. (I was not expecting that!) See attached example.

Cheers
Robin
