I have finished the mechanical part of the new Echelle, the LINX.

The LINX is very similar to Mussol. The only difference between the transmission grating 300 l/mm (200 th Mussol) and the mark of objective, a NIKKOR (Mussol, an old-ASAHI PENTAX).

It is now to build the module guide.

This is a test of the Linx, done in daylight (wavelength is not calibrated correctly). There is still work to do all the settings work correctly, but the first impression is optimistic.

These two graphs are the first light of Linx. The wavelength is now correctly calibrated.

The Linx is still in beta, it is intended for the telescope REMOT of Sta. Maria M. Its dynamic range is from 4046 to 7744 Angstroms. The provisional resolution is R = 8000.

This is the result of de simultaneous observation of the star VV Cep, by Mussol spectrograph from Piera and the Linx in Sta. Maria M., ( to 70 Km. of distance ).

The Linx's provisionally resolution is R=8000, tomorow I go to Sta. Maria M. with the intention it could improve.

Is there a potential of improvement of the resolution? What R is the theoretical guess? How is the R at the edges of the spectrum in blue and red compared with the green range (optimum of the lens)?

I changed the collimator of D30mm. F100mm. , by another of D30 125 mm. and the LINX in increased the resolution to R = 9000.

Being attached, the resulting TXT reducing ALPHA CRB. The R of each individual Order, it is the result of several variables, including the variable of focussing.

I'm thinking back to increase the R of the LINX, putting a collimator 150 mm. But he might lose light. I prefer less resolution and to reach magnitudes weaker ....

I present the comparison of two graphs, the star VV Cep. One is with the Linx from Sta. Maria and second with the Mussol from Piera.

The reason is a test to check the stability and confidence of both Échelles.

You know that VVCep is an M2, with little emission in the blue.

In the graph, from 4052 to 4175 Angs., The background noise is confused with the image (to improve the result and need more exposure time), the result is bad.

In the graph, from 4175 to 4300 Angso., The coincidences begin to be evident from the 4200 Angs.

In the graph, from 4300 to 4425 Angso. I think that I can improve.
