Hallo zusammen,

folgende Email kam von Martin Dubs über die Emailliste
astronomical_spectroscopy@yahoogroups.com. Vielleicht interessiert es jemanden, dieses Programm RLHIRES mal auszuprobieren (und hier darüber zu berichten).

Gruß
Lothar

Hi all,

for all those who want to reduce their spectra an alternative to using IRIS and Vspec is RLHIRES, also produced by Christian Buil. It combines parts of both programs with a user friendly interface to streamline the analysis of spectra from the raw images to spectrum extraction and calibration. It is described in detail here:
http://astrosurf.com/buil/rlhires/tuto1.htm
where you can also download the program and find a lot of useful information.
There is however one drawback. As far as I know it is written only in french, but apart from that it simplifies spectra reduction considerably. As far as I know it also manages 16-bit fits, whereas IRIS only works up to 15 bits.
Try it out! I have not used it myself, for my echelle I use Audela, which has a pipeline for analyzing echelle spectra. Audela is another option for L-200 spectra reduction with its module SpcAudace (this comes in different languages, also english).

Regards, Martin

I have not used it for data reduction yet but I have made some nice graphics and animations using it
