Dear Berthold & Lothar,
may be I missed this information: Did you manage to get the FOFIA II running and(!!) at the same time get a crisp and sharp star image onto the pinhole, i.e. both optical trains are in focus now?

Tomorrow I will gladly join you at the IAC 80 approx. at the same time as Thomas Eversberg will arrive. Eager to learn the procedure in practice after Berthold has tried to teach me via notebook.

Hello Norbert,

yes, we have now a very stable and sharp star image on our pinhole and an image of a guiding star on the FOVIA screen. The FOVIA is not absolutely in its focus, but the image is sharp enough to autoguide very exactly: mean error in DEC and REC ca. 0.4" !

The last night we use continiously the FOVIA autoguiding.

FOVIA is now ok and you don't need to guide manually anymore. :D
