Hi all! Some fellows asked for some atmospheric pics from Teide. Here they are. Note that we had a very nice visit from Alfonso Calvente ( Tenerife). Many thanks to our newby Alfonso for the nice evening.

Here is a teaser for the next teams: After seeing some green flashes for the first time in my life during the last days, today at sunrise I saw a blue flash via binoculars.

I see at the stars hd_160529 and hd316285 in all this folder one frame with 60 sec and one frame with 900 or 600 sec exposure time.

I am astonished.......what the reason?

The emission lines of thses stars are heavily saturated for long exp times. To get reasonable S/N without saturation we take 600/900s for the low intensity regions and 60s for the Halpha line.

Hi Berthold,

These exposure times were my request. The short exposures are so we don't saturate H-alpha, which was happening on the earlier data on these stars. The single longer exposure will do well for the remainder of my needs, so we can spend more time on the WR stars.

Hi Noel,

yes the star hd316285 is with 900 sec in some regions overexposed, but there is no overexpostion at all in the frames from hd160529 ,..no oreder with 600 sec is saturated......ok it is perhaps not so important,

If you want really such frames with only 60 sec it is absolutly ok.
