Hallo Beobachter,

INFO

Hi Nico,

I estimated to start with that it might reach 8.5 but the sn actually exploded ~15th January and for some reason was missed by everyone for 6 days.

That means it has already been rising for 6 days.

Also the spectra show strong interstellar extinction

so we might have to wait and see how bright it gets

Cheers
Robin

Yesterday I hope about a brighter than 9.0 mag Supernova, now I think about a 10.5 mag bright maximum. Too bad.

If we are limited on the wavelength range, is there a preferred coverage to observe? At the moment, I can only see 1400 Angs, and I would like to choose wisely, without doing it 3x to get the full visible spectrum.. :)

Hello Filipe,
Zitat:

As the SiII line around 6150Angs. might be expected the most prominent feature in the spectrum, I would prefer this region.

You will get an overview from current spectra and may compare with one of my results from 2011, Supernova in M101.
