da der Vortrag von Rainer Simons (Bruker) am Samstag
ersetzt wird, ergibt sich für den Sonntagnachmittag
eine tolle Möglichkeit für eine Exkursion zum Kiepenheuer-
Institut für Sonnenphysik Freiburg, genau gesagt zum Sonnenobservatorium.

Das Observatorium ist nur 25 Autominuten vom Tagungshotel entfernt.
Zeitlich wird es keine oder nur eine kleine Veränderung des Tagungsablaufes
mit sich bringen, da wir die Vorträge schon vor dem Mittagessen abschließen können.
Bei gutem Wetter ist eine Vorführung des Sonnenspektrographen geplant.
Mit einem R ~ 70.000 lässt sich die Aufspaltung von Spektrallinien in Sonnenflecken
beobachten, der Zeemanneffekt.
Dr. Markus Roth vom KIS wird folgenden Vortrag im Observatorium halten:
Forschung am Kiepenheuer-Institut für Sonnenphysik
Das KIS betreibt Grundlagenforschung in der Astronomie und Astrophysik mit
besonderem Schwerpunkt in der Sonnenphysik.
Die Forschungsthemen umfassen theoretische und experimentelle Sonnenphysik,
einschließlich des Betriebs der deutschen Sonnenteleskope im Observatorio del Teide,
Teneriffa, und der instrumentellen Entwicklung.
Die Forschungsschwerpunkte sind alle durch die Untersuchung des solaren
Magnetismus verbunden und beschäftigen sich mit der Feinstruktur der
Photosphäre und Chromosphäre, der globalen magnetischen Aktivität und mit
hochauflösender Spektropolarimetrie.
Bitte teilen Sie mir möglichst kurzfristig mit, ob Sie an dieser Exkursion interessiert sind
und teilnehmen werden.
Anfahrtbeschreibung
Mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln, kommt man am besten von Littenweiler mit der
Bahn nach Kirchzarten (Fahrtzeit 4 Minuten, es ist nur eine Station) und von dort mit dem
Bus 7215 auf den Schauinsland (Haltestelle Halde, Oberried-Schauinsland).
Die Fahrt dauert insgesamt ca. 40 Minuten.
Oben auf dem Schauinsland sind es dann nochmals ca. 20-25 Minuten zu Fuss
bis zum Observatorium.
Alternativ gibt es eine Seilbahn auf den Schauinsland. Die Talstation ist in Horben
und man braucht ca. 80 Minuten mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln, um von Littenweiler
zur Talstation der Seilbahn zu fahren. Der Gruppentarif für Berg- u. Talfahrt mit der
Seilbahn beträgt Euro 10,- pro Person. Fahrkarte für Bus und Strassenbahn
kommen noch dazu. Die Seilbahn verkehrt von 10-17 Uhr.
Von der Bergstation sind es dann 15 Minuten zu Fuss bis zum Observatorium.
Falls Ihr die Anfahrt auf den Schauinsland mit dem Auto organisieren könnt,
braucht ihr ca. 25 Minuten, um von Littenweiler über Oberried bis zum Parkplatz
bei der Schauinslandbergstation zu fahren.
Von dort sind es dann noch 15 Minuten zu Fuss bis zum Observatorium.

Driving Directions
By public transport, to get the best of Littenweiler with the
Train to Kirchzarten (takes 4 Minutes, there is only one station) and from there to the
Bus 7215 to the Schauinsland (stop stockpile, Upper Ried-Schauinsland).
The journey takes about 40 minutes.
Up on the Schauinsland are then again for about 20-25 minutes on foot
up to the observatory.
Alternatively, there is a cable car to the Schauinsland. The base station is in Horben
and it takes about 80 minutes by public transport to get from Littenweiler
to drive to the valley station of the cable car. The group rate & Mountain. Descent with the
Cable car is € 10, - per person. Ticket for bus and tram
be additional. The cable car runs from 10-17 clock.
From the mountain station is then a 15 minute walk to the observatory.
If you can organize the approach to the Schauinsland by car
takes her about 25 minutes to get from Littenweiler about Oberried to the parking lot
to drive at the Schauinsland mountain station.
From there it's 15 minutes to walk to the observatory.
