Comet 146P/Shoemaker-LINEAR was magnitude G=14.3 on the morning of 2024 August 1 MST as calculated from 25x30s images taken with no filter in an aperture diameter of 1.4'. The comet is near peak brightness for this orbit into the inner solar system unless of course it should decide to have an unexpected eruption. It does have a tail which I am sure would look very nice if some of our members were to take a look with their big scopes.
