Our site is at 10,000 ft. elevation at the summit of Haleakala and is affiliated with the University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy. We are at the 21st parallel as you know, and we are avid observers from our location. We have access to the Faulkes Telescope, part of the LCOGTN network of robotic telescopes. Our group, the Haleakala Amateur Astronomers, observe many night per month from this location. I would like to be in touch with you should you need observations from this part of the globe in the future. If you ever plan a visit to Hawaii, let us know and we would love for you to visit, (and observe), from our location.

that's a really good message. Thank you for being interested in our group. As you have seen on the ConVento webpage we are working on spectroscopy and photometry on massive stars and try to push science forward. New sites are very welcome, especially more in the south and on first class places as Hawaii. Your latitude is an additional advantage, of course. Do you use a spectrograph or is it for photometry only?

Presently we are more or less in a starting phase after our WR140 campaign. However, we got 10 nights at Teide again, now for the periastron passage of the Be star delta Sco in July 2011. A ConVento team around José Ribeiro (management) and Anatoly Miroshnichenko (science) from Greensboro University are going to the IAC 80 telescope. So, you can see we are busy but need to establish ourselves and have to bind together all interested astronomers.

This weekend we had the annual meeting of the German spectroscopy section and discussed new Wolf-Rayet targets for future campaigns. We try to make up our minds and go fot it in about two years.

That's great news! South hemisphere observers are very important! Now we have a member in Australia and others at Hawaii.
Thomas, take your time, and prepare us a campaign for the next eta Carinae periastron

It would be very interesting if these new colleagues engaged the del Sco periastron campaign! Spectra as well as photometry are needed!

Hi Thierry,

yes, the article engouraged some colleagues to join ConVento, especially from the US. And Stephen from Hawaii is a special highlight. We lack observers from the south and he is 30 degrees below, e.g., my position. You are right, I did not announce it in other lists. I am sorry for that, but I definitely can not play on all possible web sites. I believe the article becomes well-known, anyway. But feel free to do so in spectro-l or anywhere else.

Additional ProAm campaigns are very welcome. But please understand that I can not take the leadership here. I am busy with a lot of stuff, including new campaigns on WR stars. Hence, it would be great if your or somebody else familiar with the respective targets could do the job. And then I will certainly add it to the ConVento website. We await your input.
