Comet 10P/Tempel is still in the middle of morning twilight when it rises over the Catalina Mountains at altitude 8 degrees but did manage to get a few images of it before the camera saturated on the morning of 20 May 2021. Had to let some clouds pass between the 60 second and 30 second images. In the Comet Database Eric Bryssinck did collect some images of 10P's return in the spring of 2020.

In these images there is not much information that can be gathered in the bright twilight, the comet is reported to be magnitude 11, my calculations from these images suggest magnitude 12. Coma is evident but if it has a tail it can't be seen in these images.

Hello All,

These images and gif of 10P were taken on 26 July 2021. The comet does not have a very bright coma but the fan tail does cover a broad area, it is hard to see. The coma is only about 9" and the tail is at least 55" long at PA 26 degrees. The comet was G=13.0 magnitude. To be fair to the comet these images were collected in a 93% Moon illuminated sky, but all images that I have taken of the comet show it a very faint object to observe for how bright it actually is. The gif is a collection of 5 images each 2 minutes long.

This is one comet that would probably look very nice in color, what do you think Michael and Roland?
